STUDENT SUPPORT Services ~ ratonga tautoko ākonga
Our International Office is open Monday to Friday from 0800hrs through to 1630hrs for student support as required. The office is located opposite the International common room.
Wellbeing ~ oranga
Alongside conducting monthly check ins with students, a Guidance Counsellor is available on site at the college alongside a Social Worker and Nurse. The following services are confidential and free of charge.
Counsellor and Youth Workers can assist with;
Difficulties with family, friends, staff, stress, abusive, violent relationships, grief and loss, drugs, alcohol, vaping, sexuality and gender issues, future planning, motivation, concentration, NCEA issues, study and learning, time management, future planning.
Health Nurse can assist with;
First aid, feeling unwell, sports injuries, exercise and healthy eating, vision and hearing, relationships, sleep, period concerns, sexual health, drugs, alcohol, vaping, asthma, mental health, skin and hair issues, diabetes.
Common ROOM ~ ruma noa
A common room is provided for International students with a vending machine and microwave. This room sits opposite the International office providing support to students during school hours.
PEER SUPPORT ~ tautoko hoa
Each student is assigned an International Student Ambassador (buddy). The role of a buddy is to assist with integration into school life at the college by assisting the student to class, orientation of the college grounds and providing peer support. The buddy is supported by our International Student Leader.
